Job Summary

The Accounts Payable Clerk will be a key member of the Financial Services team designed to provide value-added customer service, world-class working capital management and controllership.   The ideal candidate will respond to internal and external inquiries, process customer invoices, respond to collection calls, and handle and resolved discrepancies when they arise in accordance with company specifications.  This position will perform general day to day financial clerical tasks as well as assist in the processing of customer/vendor invoice and support documentation.  Within the scope of the position responsibilities, the candidate will learn to apply the Company Business System to both continually improve and eliminate waste within the business system. The business processes will provide world-class service, meet corporate values and enhance satisfaction.  The position will work directly with the Accounting Manager on a day to day basis.

This position will cross-train with other functional areas within the Finacial Services team to enhance the team member's experiences as well as the robustness of processes.

 Essential Functions /Accountabilities

This position is accountable for, but not limited to the following:

  1. Process customer invoices and payments in a timely fashion to best maximize Company working capital within a control framework
  2. Work effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including sales, customer service, plant personnel and customers to resolve issues as they arise
  3. Assist in following up with customers to resolve past due invoices
  4. Process customer packing slips for billing and retention purposes
  5. Assist in processing vendor invoices for payment
  6. Help prepare support and documentation for audit purposes
  7. Assist in identifying and implementing improvements to existing processes and procedures
  8. Support management with special projects as they arise
  9. Play a key role in maintaining an ethical financial environment for the Company's shareholder

Knowledge and Skills

  1. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  2. Thrive in a team-oriented and collaborative environment where continuous improvement is highly valued
  3. Good computer skills (Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook). Proficiency with Microsoft AX or similar integrated ERP package desired
  4. Ability to problem solve within cross-functional environment
  5. Organized and detail oriented. Ability to prioritize responsibilities, manage deadlines, and work with users in multiple time zones
  6. Commitment to work within a cross-functional team
