Myers Container is an industry leader for manufacturing of industrial steel packaging solutions and we are seeking a Facilities Engineering Project Manager that will be responsible for the execution of capital and maintenance projects supporting building a new facility. This position could be a Senior level role depending on the experience of the candidate. The job may require occasional Holiday, weekend/evening work supporting a 24-hour/7-day operation.

Description of Responsibilities:

  • Identifying/solving issues and managing scope, budget and quality in a proactive, timely manner.
  • Engineering support activities to facilitate completion of specific projects.
  • Schedule, budget, coordinate project objectives within budgetary limits and reporting status.
  • Process engineering and equipment layout, integration, and specification services for projects that include a comparative analysis and executive summary for senior management.
  • Vendor equipment investigation, selection, price negotiation, coordination, and procurement efforts related to projects.
  • Participate in monthly and/or weekly project reviews for technical and design concerns with Senior Management.
  • Preparation and review of scope documents, job specifications, proficiency evaluation, price negotiations and contract terms.
  • Working with state, county and municipal regulatory and agencies to ensure building and process equipment are properly permitted.
  • Analyze and plan for installation of equipment and related construction activities.
  • Inspects work progress, equipment and construction sites.
  • Project start-up and commissioning equipment.
  • Work intricately with facility management and staff to aid in continuous improvement efforts.
  • The job requires frequent work on the production floor to support equipment startup, troubleshooting, and TPM.

Required Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of Solid Works, or other CAD software
  • Demonstrated knowledge of programmable logic controls
  • Data Acquisition and related Manufacturing tools to drive OEE improvements.
  • Working knowledge of maintenance management, CMMS's, root cause & problem-solving.
  • Demonstrated project management skills.
  • PLC experience is a plus
  • Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving skills and an aptitude for detail and strong organizational abilities a must.
  • Strong presentation and interpersonal skills with customers (internal and external) and vendors.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering or related course study.
  • Minimum 5 years experience in an engineering discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience in facilities planning, electrical systems, building codes and experience working with regulatory agencies.
  • PE and/or PMP desirable but not mandatory
