Container Management Services is hiring for a Yard Hostler in Portland, Oregon. The ideal candidate will possess these skills and qualifications:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Switch trailers from the yards to the dock and vice versa in a timely manner to meet production needs.
• Inspect switcher truck daily and notify Dispatch when any repairs are needed.
• Inspect trailer lights, tires and licensing. Notify Transportation Manager if repairs are needed and verify that the required
  repairs are made.
• Examine completed load at dock for accurate Status ID tag and proper securing of loaded drums.
• Record drum counts on Bills of Lading.
• Report back to management on yard condition and assist with clean-up efforts as necessary.
• Assist in directing and off-loading customer and common carriers on site.
• Monitor trailers in the yards and reposition trailers to fully utilize the yard when applicable.
• Work with the Production Manager to best coordinate inbound trailers and stage trailers for production runs.
• Assist with trailer loading and unloading (training provided)

Other Duties include but are not limited to the following:

• Assist Loading Dock and Receiving when additional employees are needed (frequent).

Required Education, Skill, and Experience:

• High School Diploma, GED or Work Experience
• Experienced truck driver
• Required License or Certification:
• Class C Drivers License (annual)
• CDL License required
• Physical Requirements:
• Sitting in the tractor for extended periods of time while switching trailers (frequent).
• Standing for extended periods of time while helping Loading Dock and Receiving (frequent).
• Lifting 35-60 lbs. drum during loading & unloading
